2021 Boys State Wrestling Brackets

Jakob Romero, Pomona, celebrates after making the 5A 126 pound final

It’s almost time. The most … interesting … Colorado high school boys wrestling season in history (we’re just going to declare that now) is set to culminate this weekend with the state wrestling tournament. This year’s pandemic-postponed and abbreviated season brings us to Pueblo for the big show, with smaller brackets (eight per weight) and a smaller atmosphere (we’ll miss you, Pepsi Center Dippin’ Dots).

But nevertheless, all anyone wanted was a chance for the athletes to compete — and that’s what we’ll get! The big story is watching Vince Cornella, the Monarch senior who made his season debut last week, aim for history. Cornella can become the 29th Colorado prep wrestler to win four state titles by winning his next three matches at the 138-pound bracket in Class 5A.

The action begins Thursday with the inaugural girls championships, followed with 2A/3A boys on Friday, and 4A/5A boys on Saturday.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at some brackets!
